Main City Saturdays
Join the club: Gresham’s premier park needs helping hands on service Saturdays.
How it works
- Groups choose one month and one Saturday a year.
- Minimum group size of 15.
- All supplies provided.
- Park projects, clean-up, planting, mulching etc.
- 2- to 3-hour commitment.
- Project supervision led by Jim Card, Friends of Tsuru Island.
- Groups recognized by the City’s Volunteer Program.
Contact
-
An influx of visitors has left areas of Main City Park - near the Springwater Trailhead and Tsuru Island – with maintenance and clean-up issues.
-
Gresham Parks, Neighborhoods and Community Engagement, and Friends of Tsuru Island, are partnering to organize Main City Saturdays, a new volunteer opportunity for groups.
-
Business organizations, nonprofits, service groups, churches and clubs can volunteer one Saturday a year to maintain the beauty and community pride of Main City Park.
-
First impressions are great, whether jogging by, through or into Main City Park. Recent vandalism and trash have left the Springwater Trailhead looking less than its best.
-
In the spirit of volunteer teamwork and partnerships, Main City Park will continue to be a favorite place to play and explore.
