Smart Water Meters: Automated Meter Infrastructure Project

Remote Residential Water Meter Replacement Project$4,001,400 will replace 17,000 residential meters with automated meters that relay data directly to the City. The project will save fuel, reduce pollution, enable water use analysis and leak identification, reduce meter-reading and troubleshooting expenses, and enhance customer service by making more water use information available to residents.

Funding Source: American Recovery and Reinvestment
($2 million grant and $2 million low-interest loan)
Project Start: January 2010
Completion: February 2012
