Gresham Fire Cadets application
Gresham Fire Cadet Post 788 provides opportunity for motivated young men and women to develop leadership, teamwork and responsibility skills while exploring the firefighting profession.
Many former Cadets are now career firefighters or respond with volunteer fire agencies.
Once accepted into the program, Cadets are required to complete basic firefighting training per the State of Oregon Fire Standards and Accreditation Board. Once qualified, Cadets can respond to emergency calls in support roles and perform non-emergency tasks according to their training.
Because of the amount of training required, the program takes new members only once a year, usually in January. Applications are accepted year-round.

Cadets also receive training in hazardous materials awareness.
Cadets must obtain certification in CPR and basic first aid.
Recruits, who successfully complete these requirements, receive a Fire Cadet badge and certificate of completion from the Gresham Fire Department.
