Focus groups
The City has hired
Bagwell Consulting to find out what Gresham residents think about representation, voting and more before critical decisions are made about the City Charter. Focus group sessions took place in 2022. Information collected will be included in a report, accompanied by a detailed conversation with
Shani Harris-Bagwell of Bagwell Consulting, to ensure the committee understands the context of the information they’ve been given. This will help the committee decide what they present to the public.
About the Charter Review Committee
Pursuant to Section 45B of the
City Charter, Gresham City Council shall appoint a Charter Review Committee (CRC) to review the current language of the City's Charter every eight years.
- The CRC will make a recommendation to Council in the form of a final report.
- If the CRC recommends the Charter be amended, it will provide proposed amendments to Council for review.
- Council may decide to place one or more of the CRC’s recommended changes on the ballot.
Committee priorities
The committee is compiling current priorities and public input received through an online whiteboard called Miro. This board is updated as the committee undergoes its review process. Previous versions of the board can be found in the Charter Review Committee's monthly meeting agenda packets. See the current board.
