Unmanned Aerial Systems (Drones)
Unmanned aerial systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones, are any aircraft without a human pilot on board.
The Gresham Police Department may use a UAS to protect lives and property when other options are not available or will be less effective. Any use of a UAS will be in strict accordance with constitutional and privacy rights and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
Policies and procedures
The City is required to establish and publish policies and procedures for use, storage, access, sharing and retention of all data collected by a UAS.
Evidence data obtained by a UAS will be retained pursuant to Oregon Administrative Rule 166-150-0135.
