Passport Applications Acceptance Program

Please note: The Financial Operations Division, which includes Utility Billing, Licensing and Titles, Liens & Collections, will be closed on Thursday, August 27 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. for its annual team building event.    

Passports will close at 12:00 pm.

Gresham is a Designated Passport Acceptance Facility

Passport applications are accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. 

All U.S. citizens are required to present a passport book, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document when entering the United States. Visit the U.S. Department of State website for specific requirements, forms and other travel information.

Basic Requirements

  1. A completed application form (do not sign ahead of time)
  2. Proof of citizenship: a certified copy of a birth certificate, previously issued U.S. Passport, Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, etc.
  3. Current photo identification: valid driver's license, current U.S. Passport, Military Identification Card, Federal I.D., etc.
  4. Two identical passport photos: 2" x 2", taken recently, against a light background, front head and shoulder view, current depiction, no uniforms, headgear or dark glasses. Note: The City does not take passport photos.

These are only basic requirements. You may be required to provide additional documents. Contact the passport information line at 503-618-2619 for more information.

Children Under 18

  1. Must appear in person
  2. Under 16 must have consent of both parents
  3. Children 16 to 17 years of age must appear with at least one parent or guardian and present photo I.D.

Time Required

Regular service takes about six weeks (25 business days, not including mail time from the receipt of the completed application), when no additional information is needed. An expedited service, which takes approximately three weeks, is available at extra cost.

  • Application Fee: check, money order or cashier's check, payable to U.S. Department of State. Cash or credit and debit cards are not accepted.
  • Execution Fee: cash, check, money order or cashier's check, payable to City of GreshamCredit and debit cards are not accepted.

Additional Fees

  • $60.00 to expedite the passport application (recommended if your travel date is within six weeks of application).
  • $19.99 to have your application mailed via Express Mail to U.S. Passport Services, and $14.85 to have your Passport returned to you via Express Mail.

Please Note: All of the above fees are set by the U.S. Passport Services and are the same at all Passport Acceptance Facilities.
