What do you enjoy about working at the City of Gresham?
I enjoy seeing innovative ideas put into play that are cost-effective and efficient. I am proud of the difference we make.
What do you do, in a nutshell?
I manage the daily operations and budget for street maintenance.
What's your best advice to someone entering the field?
Listen and obtain as much hands-on experience as possible. Everyone you work with has valuable knowledge to share.
What was your career path?
Mt. Hood Community College.
What are the most valuable skills you learned in school that you use on the job?
Measurement, finance and woodshop (hand and power tools). At the City: equipment operation, pavement maintenance, computer skills, public service and teamwork.
What was your first job?
I started at the City as a Transportation Public Utility Worker, then as a supervisor.
