Skills for the job
- Interest and understanding of environmental protection, enhancement, water quality, pollution control and waste reduction.
- Desire to work in both an office and in the field; work is typically split in both environments.
- Ability to collect field data and samples.
- Perform statistic analysis.
- Manage projects both small and large.
- Present educational information to the community, agencies and businesses.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Create good working relationships with other government agencies, contractors and employees.
Education
Options are available from the high school and GED-diploma level through college degrees, including an associate or bachelor's degree.
