Skills for the job
- Desire to work primarily in an office environment with some field work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical materials, including engineering plans and specifications, maps, codes, and state and federal regulations.
- Operate a variety of surveying, mapping equipment or software.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Perform project management on small and large projects.
- Design engineering projects successfully.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, contractors, representatives of other government agencies, developers and the public.
Education
A high school diploma or GED.
