Skills for the job
- Enjoy working outdoors; duties take place in varying and sometimes extreme weather.
- Operate heavy equipment and power tools.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Perform heavy manual work under confined and uncomfortable conditions.
- Perform math calculations.
- Communicate effectively with the public.
- Respond to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.
- Regularly lift objects and equipment weighing 25-100 pounds.
- Some positions require a Class A commercial driver's license.
Education
A high school diploma or GED.
