  • Basketball | Youth

    Middle school and high school youth can attend free basketball practice, skill building and game play on Friday and Saturday nights in Gresham.

    Registration and waiver are required.

    A Youth Services activity supervised by Portland Opportunities Industrialization Center.

    Baseball and Softball Clinics | Youth

    Free baseball and softball clinics for youth, grades K-8. 

    Each clinic is led by Friends of Baseball's supportive coach/mentors and features fun drills, games and skills stations to teach catching, throwing, running bases and batting.

    All equipment is provided by Friends of Baseball. All your child must do is show up, be ready to try new skills and have fun. All youth will receive a swag bag and other goodies.

    To provide the appropriate skills instruction, please register according to your child’s current grade level.

      NFL Flag Football Leagues | K-12 Youth

      The Portland Activities and Athletic League (PAAL) is offering free NFL Flag Football Leagues for K-12 youth.

      PAAL’s NFL FLAG’s no-contact rule and team-oriented environment makes it easy for kids to come together, learn football fundamentals and have fun.

      April 14-June 4

      PlayEast! Indoor Classes | Youth

      PlayEast! East County Recreation offers indoor spring youth activities in Gresham from April through May.

      Draw it, swish it, paint it

      • Drawing classes for ages 5-12; April 25-May 30
      • Just 4 Kicks indoor soccer classes for ages 5-11; May 2-30
      • Lil' Shots indoor basketball classes for ages 3-13; May 5-June 1

      These activities are at North Gresham Elementary School.

      Classes are fee-based. Scholarships are available for those in need.

      Gresham residents may sign up for any of the classes even if not in Gresham.

      PlayEast! East County Recreation is a recreation partner with Gresham Parks and Recreation.

      Speed, Agility and Quickness (SAQ) | All Ages

      The Portland Activities and Athletic League (PAAL) is offering a SAQ (speed, agility and quickness) class for all ages. 

      • Mondays and Fridays 6:00-8:00 pm

      Youth Boxing

      The Portland Activities and Athletic League (PAAL) is offering free youth boxing. This class is available to youth grades 6-12. The PAAL Boxing program includes non-contact or contact boxing, fitness cardio, range of motion, improved strength, sequenced movements, hand/eye exercises and more.       Youth CrossFit and Fitness at The Underground

      The Underground PDX offers free CrossFit, basic workout classes and youth mentorship to local middle and high school youth ages 12-21.

      Join us for a Wag-n-Walk at parks and trails around Gresham with local dog trainer/walker Avery of Hounding Around.

      Turn an ordinary task into a fun one while walking in Gresham and learning tips and tricks for training along the way.

      Hounding Around is a recreation partner with Gresham Parks and Recreation.

      The City maintains a 5,710-square-foot skate plaza at Main City Park in historic downtown, 219 S. Main Ave.
