    Summer Kids in the Park (SKIP)

    • June 21 - Sept. 3 in Main City Park, Red Sunset Park and Nadaka Nature Park.
    • Free activity kits and lunches available to kids 18 and under.
    • No registration required.

    Play Ball

    • June 24, 1:00-3:30 pm, at Pat Pfeifer Park.
    • Free baseball clinic with treats for youth, all ages. No experience needed.
    • T-shirts for youth who are preregistered.

    Michael Holton Basketball Academy

    • June 22-24, 10:00 am-2:00 pm, Red Sunset Park.
    • Basketball camp for ages 9-17 with participants separated by age and ability. Campers will rotate through stations to learn basketball skills in addition to health, fitness and life skills.
    • Lunch provided. 
    • Cost is $150. Fee will be waived for the first 60 youth to register using promo code HOOPS21.

    Chess for Success Day Camps

    • June 21-Aug. 20 (Monday to Thursday each week) from 8:30 am-1:30 pm at Red Sunset Park, Nadaka Nature Park and Main City Park.
    • Camps are designed for youth ages 5-12 to learn and grow through outdoor play, chess instruction and peer interaction. 
    • Lunch provided.

    MetroEast Summer Media Popups

    • Aug. 3-19 (every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) for two hours mid-day (exact times TBA).
    • Events will rotate between Red Sunset Park, Nadaka Nature Park and Main City Park.
    • Hands-on activities using the latest technology, including virtual reality, podcasting and iPad video. 
    • There is no cost to attend and no registration required.

    Basketball

    Middle school and high school youth can attend free basketball practice, skill building and game play on Friday and Saturday nights in Gresham.

    Children's Fountain

    Kids can play in two fountains – one designed for toddlers, one for bigger kids – that are powered by jets of cool, clean, chlorinated water.

    Futsal

    Youth Sunday Futsal program

    Boys and girls in grades 6-12 can drop in for free indoor Sunday Futsal game play from 5:00-7:00 pm year-round at the Friends of the Children gym. Supervision provided.

    Skatepark

    Main City Skatepark

    The City maintains a 5,710-square-foot skate plaza at Main City Park in historic downtown, 219 S. Main Ave. 

    Skatepark hours

    • 6:00 am - 8:00 pm Oct. 1 to March 31
    • 5:00 am - 10:00 pm April 1 to Sept. 30
    • Slow skate: 9:00 - 11:00 am on weekends and holidays (for skaters under 10 years)
