Memorial service for fallen Gresham firefighter, Brandon Norbury

February 9, 2023

The memorial service to honor Gresham Firefighter Brandon Norbury is planned for Wednesday, February 15 at 1:00 pm. The service will be held at East Hill Church Auditorium Building, 701 North Main Avenue, Gresham, OR 97030. A small procession of local fire and law enforcement vehicles will bring Firefighter Norbury and his family members to the service.

Gresham Fire is asking that the public pay their respects along the procession route if they would like to do so as seating will be limited at the event venue. Public viewing along the procession route will be available on NW Eastman Parkway, between NW Division and West Powell Boulevard. The estimated time for the procession to pass through the public viewing area will be between 12:30 -12:50 pm. We ask that the public use caution, stays on sidewalks, and remains out of the roadway. View the procession route.

A live stream of the service is available starting at 12:40 PM on the City of Gresham YouTube channel.

Firefighter Norbury suffered a cardiac arrest while in the line of duty on the training grounds Friday, Feb. 3. Despite receiving immediate emergency medical attention, he did not survive the event.

We estimate a significant presence of fire service and law enforcement personnel with vehicles. Parking might be limited around the church to accommodate these vehicles.

During the day, multiple agencies from around the region will provide staffing for all Gresham fire stations. Firefighters from Portland Fire and Rescue, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, Clackamas County Fire District #1, Corbett Fire District, and Port of Portland Fire Department will cover emergency responses until after the service.
