The City of Gresham is proud to announce
that the first year of strategic plan work is complete, moving the City toward
the vision for a safe, thriving, and welcoming community for all.
Adopted in August 2022, Gresham’s three-year
strategic plan is the blueprint that defines the community’s vision for the
future as well as focusing the City’s resources on the top priorities of the
community. Since its inception, the efforts of City Council, the Mayor, and
City staff have propelled Gresham forward toward the goals of Financial
Sustainability, Community Safety, Thriving Economy, Housing for All, and
Community Vibrancy.
“Completing the first year of our strategic plan
marks a historic milestone for our city. This accomplishment is a testament to
the dedication and hard work of our staff, community, and partners who are
working together to turn this shared vision into a reality,” said Mayor
Stovall.
Strategic Plan first year highlights
- An increase in available jobs in Gresham
from 38,840 in 2021 to 39,924 in 2022.
- Traffic incidents are down 42% from 818
incidents in 2021.
- A decrease from 61.6% to 60.5% of Gresham

These highlights and more can be found on the
City’s innovative new Strategic Plan Performance Dashboard, now accessible to
the community. The dashboard features data and trends and you can also find
detailed information for each of the five strategic plan priority areas in the
fiscal year 22-23 report.
“There is incredible work being done every day
around our City, much of which goes on behind the scenes,” said City Manager
Nina Vetter. “Though just a snapshot, the strategic plan is a tangible way to
represent the advancements happening across Gresham. As we enter our second
year of the plan, we are eager to build upon this foundation and excited about
the prospects that lie ahead.”
