Gresham's Community Assistance Grant Program is now available

Gresham is proud to announce that the Community Assistance Grant Program, made available through funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), is available for applications now through January 24, 2022. The Community Assistance Grant Program awards funding for non-profit organizations to provide services to the community who were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on individuals that may be especially susceptible.

“While the pandemic has impacted us all, we know that our most vulnerable communities have been disproportionately affected,” said City Manager Nina Vetter. “By partnering with local non-profit organizations, we will be able to provide critical resources where they are needed most.”

Who may apply

  • Non-profit organizations including faith-based/religious organizations, charitable organizations with 501(c)(3) IRS status.
  • Business associations with a 501(c)(6) IRS status.

Eligible activities

  • Grants must meet at least one of the following community needs, as identified via a community-wide survey.
  • Needs are listed in order of priority according to survey respondents. Preference will be given to applications that provide direct assistance to individuals. 
    • Childcare assistance.
    • Food assistance.
    • Utility bill assistance.
    • Rent or other housing assistance.
    • Access to COVID-19 vaccines, testing.
    • Cash assistance for paid leave for COVID-19-related issues.
    • Digital access (laptops/wifi)
    • Tourism and marketing services to attract visitors to Gresham.

An ARPA Community Grant advisory committee will be reviewing all of the applications received and allocating the available grants accordingly.
