This event, celebrated in Gresham and around the U.S. in thousands of communities, helps make communities safe and raise awareness about anti-crime programs.
National Night Out
- Heightens crime and drug prevention awareness.
- Generates support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs.
- Strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
- Sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

- Cookouts
- Visits from Police and Fire
- Parades and exhibits
- Flashlight walks
- Contests
- Youth programs
- Traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils
