National Night Out

  • America's night out against crime

    August 2, 2022

We are planning for small neighborhood gatherings for this year's National Night Out (subject to change based on directives from the State of Oregon and the Oregon Health Authority for Multnomah County, which we will follow).

All events must be registered by Friday, July 22 to be included on the final event list.

    Find your neighborhood

Organize a National Night Out event in your Gresham neighborhood, or plan to attend one for fun.

This event, celebrated in Gresham and around the U.S. in thousands of communities, helps make communities safe and raise awareness about anti-crime programs.

    National Night Out

    • Heightens crime and drug prevention awareness.
    • Generates support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs.
    • Strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.
    • Sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Gresham celebrates National Night Out with:

    • Block parties
    • Cookouts
    • Visits from Police and Fire
    • Parades and exhibits
    • Flashlight walks
    • Contests
    • Youth programs
    • Traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils
