Building Permit Inspections

Schedule/cancel an inspection

The Building Division provides inspection services for building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical construction.

Inspections are performed daily between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm If you place your request before 6:30 am, we will make every attempt to do a same-day inspection. Otherwise, inspections are conducted the next business day.

The Water Resources Division inspection programs assist businesses with regulatory compliance to ensure the long term health of our streams and groundwater.

Fire Prevention Inspections

Fire marshals inspect local businesses to ensure they meet current safety requirements. When hazards are noted, follow up inspections are conducted to meet compliance.

The City conducts random, mandatory inspections throughout the year on residential rental properties in Gresham.

Right-of-Way Inspections

Schedule/cancel an inspection

The City provides inspection services for right-of-way permits, including sidewalk/driveway and short-term encroachment permits. 

Timeline

Inspection requests must be made using the above link at least 24 hours in advance and are performed daily between 8:30 am-3:30 pm.

Requirements

  • Notify the City’s inspection team at least 24 hours prior to commencing work by emailing the site location, permit number and date work will begin to ROWInspections@GreshamOregon.gov.
  • The issued permit must be available at the work site during construction.
  • Provide a copy of the traffic control plan and project schedule a minimum of five days prior to scheduled construction to:
    • All impacted emergency service providers
    • School bus services
    • US Postal Service
    • Garbage haulers
    • TriMet (if lane closure is on a bus route)
  • In accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 952-001-0010 through OAR 952-001-0090, excavators must follow rules adopted by the Oregon Utility Notification Center, including potholing to locate underground utility facilities.
