Halloween Pumpkin Contest

  • Let’s give downtown Gresham a spooky and fun glow for Halloween this year. Join the City for the first Gresham Jack-o'-Lantern Contest.

    Participants can choose from free pumpkins offered at City Hall or supply their own perfect pumpkins.

    The judging takes place on Halloween at the Gresham History Museum from 4:00-6:00 pm. Come see all the pumpkins displayed around the museum. Mayor and Council will select five winners of the contest. Winners will receive a $100 cash card provided by local partner, Gresham Unitus Community Credit Union. You do not have to be present to win; winners will be notified by phone or email.

    Guidelines

    Free pumpkins and carving kits (while supplies last) will be available for pickup at Gresham City Hall, 1333 NW Eastman Parkway. 

    Pumpkin pickup dates:
    Friday, Oct. 14, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
    Saturday, Oct. 15, 8:00 am-noon

    1. Get creative! Using real pumpkins, participants may carve, paint, or decorate their pumpkins for the competition. Multiple pumpkin entries are allowed.

    Monday, Oct. 31, 8:00 am-3:00 pm
    *All pumpkins must be delivered to City Hall by 3:00 pm to make sure they make it to the Gresham History Museum in time for the Safe Trick-or-Treat event.

    2. Best Painted, Carved, or Decorated jack-o-lantern (ages 13+)
    3. Largest and Most Creative painted, carved, or decorated jack-o-lantern
    4. Gresham’s Best, a jack-o-lantern design inspired by Gresham
    5. Fan Favorite, presented by Unitus Community Credit Union
