Citizen Volunteers in Policing Program
The City of Gresham’s Citizen Volunteers in Policing (CVIP) program has been created to support the Police Department and assist in being a visible presence in our parks, trails, residential areas and commerce centers. CVIP volunteers will be the eyes and ears of the department within our community. Volunteers will not carry weapons, confront suspects, or participate in altercations, but they will provide a valuable service to both the community and the Gresham Police Department.
Applicants for the City of Gresham CVIP program must be 21 years of age and older, must live or own a business within the city limits of Gresham, and pass a DMV and criminal background check. Volunteers will also be required to attend the nine-week Citizen volunteers in Policing Academy.
