Lori Stegmann - Council Position #6


Term of Office:  January 2015 – December 2018

Gresham residents elected Councilor Lori Stegmann to Council Position 6 in November 2010, and re-elected her to a second four-year term on Nov. 4, 2014. Councilor Stegmann was sworn into office most recently on Jan. 6, 2015.

Councilor Stegmann grew up in Rockwood and chose to locate her Farmers Insurance agency in that same neighborhood. She has been an insurance agent for more than 20 years, specializing in commercial insurance.

Her prior governmental experience includes service on the Gresham Planning Commission, Rockwood Stakeholders Group and Rockwood Light Rail Station Art Committee, and as Vice Chair of the Gresham Redevelopment Commission Advisory Committee. She served as the 2014 Gresham City Council President.

In her long history of community service, Councilor Stegmann has chaired Plaza del Sol Community Events in Rockwood, and served as Vice Chair of the Rockwood Business Coalition; as a Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce Board Member; and as District 2 Secretary and Past President of Soroptimist International of Gresham. She has also been a Golden Note Award recipient for her volunteer activities.

Councilor Stegmann's committee assignments include the Public Safety Committee, Gresham Area Chamber of Commerce, Gresham Sister City Association, Youth Advisory Committee and the Council Employee Performance Subcommittee.

Councilor Stegmann is a graduate of Mt. Hood Community College and Portland State University. Her daughter attends the Gresham-Barlow School District and is a member of the City of Gresham's Youth Advisory Committee.

Her most rewarding projects include the Cinco de Mayo and Winter Family Festival celebrations held at the Plaza del Sol. “I grew up in Rockwood and have such fond memories,” she says. “I want this community and especially the kids to have that same feeling of family and home.”
