Councilor Karylinn Echols - Council Position #3
Term of Office: January 2013 to December 2016
Councilor Karylinn Echols was re-elected to the Gresham City Council in the November 2012 election and was sworn into a four-year term on Jan. 8, 2013.
She also served on Council from 2005 to 2007 after being elected to office; and served in the Council Position #3 seat beginning on Jan. 18, 2011, after being unanimously appointed by Council to the seat and then elected by the public in May 2011 to continue in the position.
Councilor Echols was unanimously selected by her fellow Council members to serve as Council President for 2013, after also serving in that capacity in 2012.
Councilor Echols' committee assignments include the Finance Committee, East Multnomah County Transportation Committee, Metro Policy Advisory Committee and the Council Employee Performance Committee.
Her background includes work in the public, private and non-profit sectors and experience with project management and organizational development. She is executive director of the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses Inc., and holds a master’s degree in Organizational Management. She is a former board member and officer of the Gresham Center for the Arts Foundation and a former board member and president of MetroEast Community Media.
Councilor Echols’ priorities include job growth and advancing Rockwood – West Gresham urban renewal.
