Sworn in as the City’s 26th Mayor in 2007, and re-elected to a second term in November 2010, Bemis has focused on improving public safety, fostering economic development and enhancing Gresham’s quality of life.

Councilor

Councilor Jerry Hinton was elected to Council Position 1 in November 2012 and sworn into office on Jan. 8, 2013. Read Bio

Councilor Josh Fuhrer was appointed by the City Council in July 2009 to fill a vacancy and elected to a four-year term starting in January 2011. Read Bio

Council President

As a member of Council, Echols’ priorities include job growth and pushing ahead on Rockwood – West Gresham urban renewal.  Councilor Echols was unanimously selected by her fellow Council members to serve as Council President for 2013, after also serving in that capacity in 2012. Read Bio

Councilor Mario Palmero was appointed by Council to this open seat on Dec. 18, 2012, and will serve until a successor is elected in November 2014 and takes office at the beginning of 2015. Read Bio

Councilor Michael McCormick, a retired Portland firefighter who has lived in Gresham since 1957, was elected to Council Position 5 in November 2012 and sworn into office on Jan. 8, 2013. Read Bio
