Inspection types

Construction InspectionConstruction inspections

Building inspectors review all construction work from foundation through occupancy. Inspectors are typically available for phone calls between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information call 503-618-2845. Read more about construction inspections.

The inspector will either approve the work or write up a correction notice and complete an inspection checklist. Corrections must be made before another inspection can be requested.

Public works inspections

Public works inspectors oversee construction in the public right-of-way. If you are building a project that includes privately financed public utilities, an inspector will be involved in your project. This construction will be inspected in compliance with the public works standards. Questions about your project should be directed to Development Engineering at 503-618-2622.

The City's qualified contractors list includes a list of approved contractors and the services they provide. To be included in this list submit a contractor's pre-qualification application.

Fire safety inspections

Gresham Deputy Fire Marshals conduct fire safety inspections to ensure all business occupancies meet current safety requirements. Where hazards are noted, follow-on inspections are conducted to ensure compliance.

If your business needs a special inspection for insurance purpose or any other reason, your deputy is only a phone call away at 503-618-2355.
