About the Art

The public art on the plaza is a culmination of years of effort by the Center for the Arts Foundation to raise private funding for artwork.

The pillars were designed by Claudia Fitch, a Seattle artist, and each represents one of the four aspects of art – visual art, music, literature and dance. Visually, the pillars resemble a paint brush, trumpet, fountain pen and tutu.
