Owner tips
- Pet waste may contain harmful bacteria, including Giardia, E. Coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter.
- Dog waste left on the ground eventually finds its way into our creeks and streams and possibly into groundwater (a potential drinking water
- source in Gresham).
- Always picking up your pet’s waste at the park and in open spaces then dispose in the trash or toilet.
- Avoiding children’s play areas at the park with your pet.
Doggie Doo? Doggie Don’t! program
- These boxes in Gresham parks hold plastic bags for pet waste scooping.
“Forgetting to bring a bag” is the number one reason why pet owners do not scoop.
- “Doggie Doo, Doggie Don’t” boxes are stocked by park users.
- Bring extra bags and leave them for others.
