Stormwater Management Program
Since 1994, the City has been required by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and federal Clean Water Act to reduce stormwater pollution to local rivers and streams. To meet pollution reduction mandates and prevent flooding, the City collects stormwater utility fees.
The Stormwater Management Program consists of a variety of elements such as stormwater monitoring, erosion control, business inspections, business education, and code requirements.
NPDES Stormwater Permit Renewal
The City is in the process of renewing its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer (MS4) Phase I Permit, which is issued by the Department of Environmental Quality under the Clean Water Act.
