Since 1994, the City has been required by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and federal Clean Water Act to reduce stormwater pollution to local rivers and streams. To meet pollution reduction mandates and prevent flooding, the City collects stormwater utility fees that support a variety of programs for the public's benefit, as listed below.
